Ingredients
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups tomato sauce
Fresh basil for garnish
Directions
In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Top with scoops of ricotta cheese. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
Serve meatballs with sauce over pasta or on their own. Garnish with fresh basil.
